RACER BIO: Jack Dorsey - Born; Indianapolis Indiana 12-4-2002 (16 years old)
My passion is for racing, this passion was ignited by a difficult period in my life. I lost my mother to cancer in 2014. My father and I found racing, and the racing community, as therapy in dealing with that loss. Additionally, I used my loss as motivation to start a charitable foundation, called Karting for Cancer. Over the past four years I have raised and donated almost $10,000, and given to various children’s hospitals, and Make a Wish donations. It was important for me to give back to kids like myself who were dealing with illness and loss just as I did with my mom.
My racing career started at 9 years old with karting. Over the years I have progressed from local tracks to national events and have won several national karting titles at different levels. My jump into cars came with the Lucas Formula Racing school and the “Karts to Cars Scholarship”. I was successful in the Lucas Scholarship placing 3rd overall, winning a racing scholarship valued at $35,000. In the 2019 Lucas formula car series, I took 4 of 10 poles and 9 of 15 possible podiums, finishing 3rd overall in the championship only 9 points out of 1st. In 2019 I was also selected as a candidate for the 2019 Team USA racing scholarship.
My strengths in racing are quickness and consistency, with an ability to take feedback & instruction and turn it into on-track performance and consistent high-quality results. As a part of the Road to Indy development program in next 3-5 years I would like to broaden my experience with a developmental sportscar drive in the MX5 cup. Eventually I would like to drive professionally in the IndyCar or IMSA series. Additionally, I want to further my philanthropic efforts and use my professional racing platform to help kids and families suffering with illness and loss.
To accomplish my dream, I am currently seeking sponsors to help me continue in my racing career, but also to improve the lives of others via my charity The Anchor Foundation (formerly Karting for Cancer). Therefore 10% of all monies donated to Jack Dorsey Racing will go to the Anchor Foundation Fund and children’s charities.
